Training Course on Qualitative Data Analysis using ATLAS.ti on 21st_March_to 24th_2018 in Kampala

Training Course on Qualitative Data Analysis using ATLAS.ti on 21st _March_ 24th 2018  in Kampala

What is ATLAS.ti: ATLAS.ti is a powerful workbench for the qualitative analysis of large bodies of textual, graphical, audio, and video data. It offers a variety of tools for accomplishing the tasks associated with any systematic approach to unstructured data, i. e., data that cannot be meaningfully analyzed by formal, statistical approaches. In the course of such a qualitative analysis, ATLAS.ti helps you to explore the complex phenomena hidden in your data. For coping with the inherent complexity of the tasks and the data, ATLAS.ti offers a powerful and intuitive environment that keeps you focused on the analyzed materials. It offers tools to manage, extract, compare, explore, and reassemble meaningful pieces from large amounts of data in creative, flexible, yet systematic ways. ATLAS.ti has a free version but with limited access to help those with small survey/research projects.

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will learn about the methodological principles behind ATLAS.ti
  2. Participants will learn about the role of ATLAS.ti in the research process
  3. Participants will learn the fundamental functions and procedures of ATLAS.ti
  4. Participants will learn to use ATLAS.ti in data analysis following an approach emphasizing data integration, organization, and constant documentation of the process
  5. Participants will also be introduced to Quantitative Data Analysis using SPSS and they will acquire all necessary skills to analyze Quantitative Data

Benefits of the Training Workshop

  1. Apart from ATLAS.ti, the participants will also be introduced to Quantitative Data Analysis using SPSS (Participants will acquire all necessary skills to analyze Quantitative Data using SPSS)
  2. Participants will receive Certificate of Completion including all Modules covered in ATLAS.ti and SPSS.
  3. Networking
  4. We shall run a raffle and one successful participant will get a permanent license.

Who Should Attend?: The course is designed for data processing coordinators/supervisors/data entry operators, researchers, demographers, and data managers, all level of persons who have the basic computer knowledge at least and who committed to work related to data processing of the survey or census.

Training aim: This hands-on workshop aims at helping participants learn about computer-assisted qualitative data analysis with Atlas.ti. Qualitative Content Analysis (QCA) will be introduced exemplarily to demonstrate practical ways of using Atlas.ti.
