Introduction

Tableau is a leading data visualization and business intelligence tool that helps users analyze, visualize, and share data in an interactive and user-friendly way. Developed in 2003 and now a part of Salesforce, Tableau allows users—both technical and non-technical—to connect to various data sources, clean and explore data, and create powerful dashboards without extensive programming knowledge.

Its drag-and-drop interface makes it easy to turn raw data into meaningful insights using a wide range of charts, maps, and interactive reports. Tableau is widely used across sectors such as health, education, finance, and government for monitoring, evaluation, and decision-making.

Training Objectives

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the fundamentals of data analysis and visualization using Tableau.
  2. Connect Tableau to various data sources (e.g., Excel, CSV, SQL).
  3. Clean, prepare, and explore data within Tableau.
  4. Create basic and advanced visualizations such as bar charts, line graphs, maps, and dashboards.
  5. Use Tableau’s interactive features (filters, parameters, actions) for deeper insights.
  6. Design, publish, and share professional dashboards for decision-making.
  7. Apply best practices in data storytelling and visualization to communicate findings effectively.
