In 2017, Maarifa Consult team was contracted to conduct a training for five days on Gender and Protection Mainstreaming in Humanitarian Response to all its partners in South Sudan; ACROSS, ALARM, Church and Development (C&D), Humanitarian Development Consortium (HDC), Kapoeta Development Initiative (KDI), National Relief & Development Corps (NRDC),Nile Hope, Sudan Peace and Education Development Program (SPEDP),Universal Networks for Knowledge and empowerment and Agency (UNKEA)

The major training objective was to equip DCA staff and partners with operational knowledge and skills in Gender and protection in Cash Transfer programing, food security and livelihoods, education in emergencies, PSS, peace building.

Participants were administered with two types of Assessments. The pre-training tests indicated that many participants were not well conversant with gender and protection mainstreaming. However, during the training process many participants revealed that there was some improvement in acquisition of knowledge regarding the two subjects.

At the end of the training the participants were able to evaluate the overall training and it was based on five parameters and these include: Time management, Training room, Facilitation process/facilitators capability, the level of participation, welfare and last but not least content/topic relevancy. The following are scores for each parameter.
