Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB) is a faith based national umbrella organization supporting activities.

In 2017 November, Maarifa Team was contracted by Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau to undertake a training on USG/USAID Fund Compliance and Risk Management in November 2017 in Masaka for its implementing partner staff.

Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB) is a faith based national umbrella organization supporting activities of over 290 medical facilities affiliated to the Protestant Church of Uganda. Among these facilities are 14 facilities with which UPMB is implementing a National Expansion and Strengthening of Sustainable HIV/TB Services in Uganda (NESH) Project. It is under this project that UPMB established an Internal Audit Function.

Following the noticeable turn over in the MHFs supported by this project, it is prudent that USG grant knowledge and skills are passed on to the Teams in order to address the noticeable Risk and funds management gaps at these facilities.
The objective of the training was to enable the Facility Management Team of selected UPMB member Health Facilities to understand, appreciate and participate in the USG Fund and Risk Management functions’ success.
